Subodh C. Mathur

An economist, he has worked with non-economists on real-world problems around the world. Based on this, in 2020, he wrote Core Economics, which is Economics for non-economists in simple, jargon-free language.

He has worked regularly as a consultant for DOEE, which is Washington, DC's Department of Energy and Environment. In recent years, his work has focused on energy subsidies for low-income households, and the promotion of solar power. He has also worked for the World Bank on providing electricity to rural areas in Asia and Africa.

In his spare time, he is an avid gardener, growing mainly flowers. He uses only a few manual tools, and hardly any fertilizer of any type.
